Snider Scholarship for Women in Ministry

The Snider Scholarship for Women in Ministry is a scholarship established by Michelle Salzman, Resident Fellow in the Psychology and Counseling Department at B. H. Carroll Theological Institute. Named in honor of her grandfather, William Bennett Snider, the scholarship is designed to provide financial support to female students, training for their M. A. Counseling degrees at B. H. Carroll.

Ms. Salzman has long felt a desire to support and promote women who are going through the rigors of their M. A. work and in their preparation for ministry in the counseling field. She states,

“Over the past 20 years I have spoken with many women who have encountered the absence of scholarships available for women in ministry as they seek funding for training in their God given vocation. As such, I sensed the Holy Spirit leading me to establish this scholarship.”

Mrs. Salzman is an LPC supervisor, and regularly teaches the Practicum I course in B. H. Carroll’s counseling program. In this course, students make final preparations to provide counseling services to individuals, couples, and families, which they do over the course of their next year in the program. Most of B. H. Carroll’s counseling students are preparing for state counseling licensure, which requires a structured practicum experience under the supervision of a supervisory-status licensed counselor. Counseling graduates of the B. H. Carroll program work in churches, Christian counseling centers, and in various community agencies.
